There is a very special Christmas atmosphere in Cologne every year. When the Christmas market at Cologne Cathedral lights up again and the scent of mulled wine, fir trees and roasted almonds wafts through the city, it is very Christmassy in the cathedral city.

In the morning: Your perfect day in Cologne's Christmas season begins with a leisurely stroll through the festively decorated city centre.
